Birthday Bash!

O.K. I know this post is a little late but I've been busy! Last Friday Noah's peep's came over to help him celebrate his birthday. I was only there long enough to clean up the garage, put the drinks on ice (redneck style in a wheel barrel), bake the pizza and set out the chips and plates.
Glenn, Aaron and I had to be at baseball game in Santa Cruz which was fine with Noah. I got the feeling he didn't want us at his party anyway. When we got back they had cleaned up everything and one of the girls even cleaned Noahs room. That's one brave girl!

SEVENTEEN!

Today is Noah’s birthday and it makes me cry to think about it. I really can't tell you why this birthday is so sad for me it just is. When I think back on the past seventeen years they seem to be a blur, but there are a few memories still fresh in my mind that I would like share..... When he was a year old, he used to point at the top of the refrigerator and say "I have a tootie?" (that's where we kept the cookies), when he was two his Aunt Terry asked him "who's the best mom in the world and he pointed at me and then she asked whose the best Dad in the world and he said my Dad then she asked him the most important question of all... Who's the best Aunt Terry in the world and he replied "WELL YOU"RE NOT"! (that's a classic!) When he was a Ninja at three and used to wear one of my old purse straps on his head (see picture below) When he was three and a half and decided he was going to ride the exercise bike to Grandma Dixie’s house (see picture below), when he was four he stuck a Lego up his nose because his best friend Stephanie told him to, when he was six he used to think his grandpa John picked plums because he was a plumber, when he was ten and found out their was no Santa, and was concerned that if he didn't know that, and he got married and his wife didn't know that, then his kids wouldn't get any gifts.
In closing I would just like to say as the mother of this kind hearted, fun, loving and smart teenager, I am one of the luckiest moms in the world.

Happy 10th Birthday Melia

This evening we all gathered at Donna and Ralphs to celebrate Melia's 10th birthday. Melia is the youngest of my six nieces and I must say, she is one styling ten year old, she knows what she likes and how to shop for it. I was so happy when Margaret (her mom) decited to celebrate Melias birthday in Aromas. Every year we seem to miss out on her celebration because of Little League. Here are a few pictures from her celebration.

Katie Class of 2006

Yesterday Katie graduated from Gilroy High School.
It was so nice to be a part of that meaningful event. I took a lot of pictures but I have to admit I took quite a few of girls that I thought were Katie. "Hay they were all dressed in blue and had the same sunglasses!. Needless to say, I managed to get some good shots in spite of my lack of judgment.
Katie is number four of my six nieces to graduate high school. While in high school she managed to hold a job(sometimes even two jobs), keep a high GPA and earn $1,100.00 in scholarship money. But I can't give Kaite all the credit for her success, her mom Debbie had a lot to do with it. In the fall Kaite plans to start Massage Therapy school in Sacramento. Good luck Katie we're all very, very proud of you.....and your mom!

CC Cookies

There's is nothing like chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven, just ask my guys. The other night Glenn asked me if I would bake some cookies. He's usually not the one who makes this request so I was happy to heat up the oven and start baking. Aarons favorite way to get me to make cookies is "Hay mom lets make cookies" but what he means to say is "mom why do you make us some cookies". I remember growing up and helping my mom bake cookies, to this day I can still remember where she keeps all the ingredients. I hope someday when my boys are all grown up baking cookies is a happy memory for them.

It's funny how the little things in life matter most.....

A Day at the Beach

Today Aaron, Jake, Baylee and I went to the beach. I'm usually not a beach person (not a lover of the sand) but today was a beautiful day and I couldn't pass up the opportunity. This is the first time Baylee has ever been to the beach and she loved it, she was even body surfing. We stopped at Taco Bell for lunch, Big Lots for sunscreen (a must in my household) and then off to the beach for a day of skimming, body surfing, chasing sticks and sun.

Schools Out

Friday was the last day of school for the Grimes boys and most of Aromas. Aaron has big plans to spend as much time as he can at the beach with his best friend Jake. They plan on doing alot of skimboarding and checking out girls (they are big 7th graders now). Their baseball team won their play off game and are going to the TOC's on the 19th.
Noah on the other hand is heading to summer school, he didn't do to well in English so he's making up for it. He did a great job in Spanish and even received an award for it, good job Noah. He will also be taking his driving test on the 21st and turning 17 on the 23rd it's going to be a very busy month for the Grimes Family.
